Chrysler Repair: 2.7L timing chain installation, cam sprockets, cam chain

Question
Hi Kevin..I had my Sering LX 2001(2.7 liter) top overhauled recently. After installed everything back the engine won t start. I d tried the "on" and "off" method and these are theerror 1)0645 2)1684. I am also curios about the consequenses if the timing chain was not installed correctly. Can you show me the full diagram of the timing chain/cam chain position for proper installation. Presently the crank position is not alligned to the oil pump mark since #1 piston not fully at the top.All other mark installed accordingly except for the cam chain is a bit confusing.Don t know the exact position. Thanks

Answer
Hi Shaheezam,
I found this question in the pool, but I believe it has been answered. As I 'view' the drawing posted by Kevin, the chain itself because of its three plated link marks automatically sets up the timing between the crank and the cam sprockets without significant regard to where the engine is in its cycle (except of course that the links have to be in contact with the sprockets so as to make sure of the alignment at those 3 points). Notice also that the 'polarity' of the two single pleated-links are different (teeth point in or teeth point out) so you will know that the chain is being used properly, not reversed. It is the case that the oil pump mark is 60 ATDC for cylinder #1 but that is not relevant to setting the timing chain.
