Chrysler Repair: 2.7 timing chain, timing chain, left bank

Question
would the engin run if the chain was out one tooth on one bank only? my 2.7 runs but seems to be missing, right bank makes big diff. when each coil is unpluged, left bank makes a smll diff. when coil is unpluged!!! Thanks....Doug

Answer
Being 1 tooth out will allow the engine to run, but run badly. The idle will be rough and it will be slow off the line. Once the engine hits around 2000 - 2500 rpm's, the engine smooths out. Set the crank at 0 (tdc) and remove the cam covers to check the timing marks.
