Chrysler Repair: 1990 Alarm System removal/disable, chrysler factory, plymouth acclaim

I would like to disconect the Chrysler Factory alarm on my 1990 Plymouth Acclaim, we do not need it.

Hi Jason,
The box for that is located above the glove box. You remove the 6 screws from around the opening of the box and drop it down. You will see it mounted on a transverse bracket. If necessary remove the screws for the bracket to access the module box's plug. It has a 21- pin natural color plug. Now here is the important part: NEVER PULL THE PLUG UNLESS THE ENGINE IS ALSO RUNNING WHEN YOU DO SO. So start the engine, then pull the plug. Otherwise you get into a "hard" lockdown of the engine.

PS The '90 diagrams don't show the system as being offered on the Acclaim, but I am describing the system as used on other models at that time.
