Chrysler Repair: 1996 Sebring transmission jerks when coming to a stop, chrysler sebring coupe, dipstick tube

Question
Hi Roland i have a question.  I just changed the transmission fluid and filter in my 1996 Chrysler sebring coupe 2.5L. When i come to a stop my transmission does a quick jerk.  I am wondering what causes this maybe to much fluid i checked the dipstick and its over the line it suppose to be at.

Answer
Hi Josh,
It could be the overfill so try to suck some of it out of the dipstick tube with a baster or similar suction device with a long dip hose.
If there is an Autozone parts store near you they will often do a fault code readout for any codes that might have been set in the transmission controller memory. That code would help in the diagnosis if there is one. The codes are 4-digit numbers. It may be that the torque conventer lock-up solenoid is not releasing when you slow down after having driven at a speed greater than 40 mph, which is where the lock-up occurs.
Let me know if you get any numbers.
