Chrysler Repair: 1999 Cirrus heater fan, heater fan, fan assembly

Question
fan started making loud griding noise then just stopped working

Answer
Hi Tony,
It sounds like you need a new blower motor, or possibly the fuse has blown because of the motor/fan assembly either breaking down or at least rubbing on the housing. I would remove the lower edge of the passenger side dash so as to gain access to the right end underside of the ac/heater air housing. There you will find the blower cover on the bottom of the unit. Remove the cover, unplug the blower wire connector, then the motor and fan and try jumping its wires to see if it works well or not. Then either replace it, remount it and or check the fuse (#1, 30 amp in the box under the dash on the driver side).
