Chrysler Repair: Lamp out indicator malfunction?, dodge ram 2500, dodge ram 2500 diesel

QUESTION: I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel with 89xxx miles and the "Lamp Out" signal on dash will appear and chime every week or so for a minute or and hour only while driving and all lamps and bulbs are fine? Need to know location of relay/sensor if any or any other suggestions. I have not began any diagnosing yet. Thanks, Don.

ANSWER: u have a bad bulb, wrong bulb installed  trailer tow hooked up thats aftermarket.

QUESTION: Hi, thanks for the reply! I am good with a bad bulb and have no prob. trying to detect. But about the trailer, I pull a brand new car trailer and the plug in and lights are fine, what do you suggest to do with the trailer wireing? Thanks, Don.

QUESTION: Hi, if it is the trailer what do you suggest I do to find the problem? The trailer wireing plugs into the factory plug in bumper and all the lights work. Also this signal sounds when no lights are on? Thanks for you replies, Don

the whole lamp out deal is checked by restance  so when there is higher then normal restance  like when a bulb is out  u get that ding.  Unplug the trailer tow connector and see if it goes away. After that u could have something to do with the connection that u installed for the trailer tow,
