QUESTION: Thanks for the reply, but I do have the 1996-2002 repair manual and it shows a different trim piece that pops off under the mirror to access the fender bolt, without removing the mirror. My van has a larger wrap around piece that doesn't appear to pop off. Any thoughts?

ANSWER: the part in question was on vans up to 2000  that lower part would come off by removing the 2 screws and a t25 bolt. U have a 2002  not the same van as the 96 - 2000. The wrap around will come off by removing the mirror itself.
