Chrysler Repair: 94 3.3L wont run right, voyager 3, code translation

I have a 94 voyager 3.3l engine i try to stat the engine and all it does is spit spoter @ backfireit will not start what is the cure for this

Hi Michael,
It could be mixture or ignition. I would try to get any fault codes that may be stored in the controller memory using the ignition switch: "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less. Then watch the check engine light which remains 'on' to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to make sure you have counts correctly. Then group in pairs in the order of appearance to form the 2-digit fault codes. The last code will be 55 which means 'end of readout'. The go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a code translation.
