Chrysler Repair: Name of Wiring?, transmission controller, pin plug

Question
Hello. I was wondering what the exact name of the wiring from the output speed sensor to the transmission controller was called? I believe that I might have a break is this wiring and am probably going to have to replace this item. Also, do you have any recommendations as to where I can find this part? Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Aaron,
On the wiring question, I looked at the '96 Cirrus/Stratus manual and note that the single plug at the sensor is connected to a 10-pin plug that service several other components. That ten pin plug is called C-105. I think you could check the wires from the sensor plug to C-105 and then from the other side of the C-105 plug to the transmission controller using an ohmmeter. The two wires at the speed sensor are attached to pins 13 and 14 at the trans controller. Let me know if that is not the case on your vehicle and I can probably tell you what the connections are. If you find a break you can probably repair it or get either a new 10-pin plug and harness (or more expensive yet would be the harness from the 10-pin plug to the 60-pin plug called C101 at the control module) from a dealer by ordering it, but you first should find out where the break is located so you get the correct replacement. I suspect you should be able to repair the break.
