Chrysler Repair: Electric side mirrors only work two ways, discrepencies, rational reason

Question
Hi Roland,
I have a 1990 LeBaron Convertable 3.0L 4sp auto.
The power side mirrors used to work in all four planes(up,down, side to side). I did some work to the front power window on the drivers side and when finished connected everything back up. Much to my chagrin, the power outside mirrors now only work to the "right" and "down". I checked the connection and wires for condunuity,,is there a fuse or relay somewhere I am missing?
Your help is appreciated,
Rick Coneybeer

Answer
Hi Rick,
Sorry to learn that the mirrors still don't work. I took another look at my manuals and am now totally confused. There seems to be discrepencies between the wiring digrams and the text descriptions in the 1990 manual. So maybe if you could tell me the color of wires on the switch side of the disconnect, and if they differ on the harness side of the switch disconnect I might be able to figure out if the circuit diagram is correctly shown in the '89, 90, or 91 wiring diagrams. Also, I thought I had identified a rational reason for your problem (the more complex continuity demands) but now I see that I had been looking at the wrong year's ('92) text. I suspect that only 7 of the 8 pins at the switch are in use. Is that correct? There is a table that describes how to insert 12V and a ground jumper into the various pins of the harness side to test the mirror motors. So maybe that would be of help to you. Let me know if you want me to type that to you. I am getting a bit suspicious of some of the quality control of these shop manuals, given the discrepencies I have discovered!
