Classic/Antique Car Repair: alternators, alfa romeo spyder, bosch alternator

Question
Brian
I am restoring an 1962 Alfa Romeo Spyder with a Lucas electrical system. I would like to replace the generator with an alternator in order to eliminate the Lucas voltage regulator. Do you know of a small alternator that I can adapt to my Alfa. I can mount some Delcos but I would like something smaller.
Thanx

Answer
Al:

I would go with a Bosch alternator. Here's a good site (related to installation in an MGB) but your's should be similar. If you don't go with a Bosch, I'd stay with a Lucas alternator - just go with one with more output.
