Dodge Repair: diesel fuel filter, ft lbs torque, diesel fuel filter

Question
Once a new diesel fuel filter is installed in 2006 models, does one have to
purge the lines somehow to rid the system of air?
Or do you simply try turning the truck over time and time again?

thanks,
