Eagle Repair: 91 talon trans wont pull, clutch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder

Question
Hey Doug,

Hope you can help me. I just got a 91 Eagle ESI 2.0L Base model i believe. Now heres my problem, the owner i bought it from said that the clutch was gone but a trusty tow truck driver told me that it wasnt the clutch because the car would not budge after putting it in gear. He said it might be some air or a leaking gasket? Slave something?... Im not sure what it is but just wanted to know how i can get the darn thing working again. The gear goes in when the car is off, and the car doesnt move...does that mean i dont need a clutch?

Answer
OK, first off if you press in the clutch, try to crank the car I need to know what it attempts to do.  If it pulls/bucks/jerks then your clutch is not being fully disengaged.  This is more than likely because of a leaking Clutch slave cylinder, Clutch master cylinder, both or just a leaking rubber hose somewhere.

If you attempt to crank the vehicle with it in gear, it doesn't lurch forward and then you release the clutch and it still doesn't pull then you have either a bad clutch, a snapped axle, or internal transmission failure.
