is this problem easy to fix or do i need to take this to my mechanic, i have done a tuneup and changed fuel filter.
Answer -
If you can send me the code for the VCT.

VCT= Variable cam timing. You probably need someone with the capabilities to diagnose this system properly.

Answer
I didn't find P1353 in the list, but there is a P1383 that matches your description of the code, so I am going with that one.

Here are the probable causes per Ford:

Possible causes for P1383:

Cam timing improperly set.
Continuous oil flow to piston chamber.
VCT solenoid valve stuck open.
Camshaft advance mechanism binding

This engine may just need a timing belt, but tests will have to be done to determine that. I have no way of knowing your mechanical capabilities, and do not wish to offend. Perhaps this needs a professional to get to the solution.

The cam timing will need to be verified. Then are a couple of possibilites, depending of the results of a KOER test.
If the code does not return and the timing belt has more than 60,000 miles on it, that may be the cause. Only the proper steps will find the actual problem

Good luck, let me know how it goes either way.
