Honda Repair: enginer mounts, charcoal canister, honda tech

Question
I would like your advice on the proper procedure for replacing the REAR motor mount (nearest the firewall)on a 1991 Honda Accord EX, 4-door, automatic transmission. Is this a reasonably easy replacement without a shop lift. What components, if any, do I need to remove to get to the mount and replace it. I do have a large floor jack and can support the engine with it during the replacement, if necessary. I have already replaced the front mount (i.e "dogbone" torque mount) and it was a very easy replacment. Please let me know how you would go about doing this. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Casey, sorry about the wait, I've been very busy last few days.
The rear mount is a vacuum controlled, two stage mount that is very large, and not at all fun to replace. (Even for an experienced Honda Tech like me). I really wouldn't suggest doing this yourself, unless you have alot of patience. If your car has A.B.S. brakes, you have to take it out from the bottom, after removing the mount bracket, and possibly the left axle. If you don't have A.B.S, you can squeeze it out through the top, after moving the bracket, the Charcoal Canister, and a few lines. Either way, it's a bear. I would take it to a shop if you feel it is out of your league.

Good luck!
