Hyundai Repair: 2004 Hyundai Sonata Clock, 2004 hyundai sonata, hyundai sonata

Question
I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata and the clock flickers and goes dim to bright only when driving at night.  Any ideas???????  Thanks.

Answer
The clock receives a signal from the light switch to enable it to dim whenever the parking lamps are on.  If none of the other dash lamps vary their brightness or turn on/off in conjunction with the clock, there are two potential issues:

-- Internal problem in clock
-- Poor contact in connector at back of clock

These clocks have been very problematic, so I'd wager the problem is in the clock itself.
