Jeep Repair: cooling fan curcuit, fan module, pink wire

Question
QUESTION: On my '99 GC Larado 6cyl, my cooling fan modual is not recieving the ground signal from the obc., not even when the ac is on max. I have had to add a relay to induce ground to operate the fan mod.
Question, where is the temp sensor located that sends the signal or do you think i need to replace the on board comp?
I do have a fault code p 1491
THanks for your help!!!!

ANSWER: u need to replace the cooling fan relay under the bumper pass side.

QUESTION: the relay (fan module) is working fine. Already replaced it. I am trigging that module with another relay that I installed as a temp fix. Originally the comp. triggers the fan module. I need to locate the temp. sensor that the comp. uses to trip the fan module so I can make sure that the comp isnt bad.
With the check engine light on, the jeep wont pass state inspection or I would just leave it the way it is now.
Thanks for the input just the same.

ANSWER: if your temperature gauge inside the jeep is working u dont have a sensor issue. SO u replaced the fan and the relay already? The relay under the bumper?

QUESTION: yes to all, temp guage is working fine, fan and fan relay have been replaced. all works expect the comp. will not kick on the fan relay.   I was assuming there is a second temp sensor besides the one for the guage, am I  wrong with that assumption?

Answer
only one sensor for temp.  look at connection c102 right rear of engine area black 14 pin connector  look for stuff in there corrosion on the dark blue and pink wire  if that is good  u have either a wire issue from the pcm to the relay  or u have a bad PCM.
