Land Rover Repair: 98 disco looses spark shortly after starting, rovers north, scan tool

I recently purchased a 98 discovery 4.0 bought it not running or I should say stay running. After starting rpm creeps up to about 3k and looses all spark if I turn key forward again just cranks. Turn ignition off briefly and repeats I'm a pretty good electrical troubleshooter but unable to find any detailed wiring diagrams and completely unfamiliar with this vehicle. Hoping an old pro can save me some time and aggravation any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't know any quick answer to the problem you describe.  What I would do is look at the live data stream on the scan tool and see what goes away, and then take it from there.  As for wiring and service info - you can buy those books from Rovers North or Atlantic British.  I suggest you do so directly.
