Land Rover Repair: Brake Light Switch, brake light switch, vacuum hose

Question
Under the lower dash, I have 2 switches located above the brake pedal. Which is the brake light switch? One has a small hose connected to it, what is that switch for? (Is that for cruise control?) Also, The second switch, which might be the brake switch, it clicks when I push the plunger in, could it be bad?

Answer
The vacuum hose dumps the vacuum for the cruise control when you apply the brakes.  The other switch is the stop lamp switch.  If the stop lamps don't work and the vehicle does not shift out of part when pressed, it has probably failed.  Make sure the switch has power, though.
