Land Rover Repair: 2000 Land Rover Disc. II, crank sensor, boise id

Question
We live in a remote area and I drive 4- 10 miles per day to work and chores.  Mon it just quit.  I had been running the air and the LR was running a little rough  intermittently.  I let it set and cool off for about an hour and it started right up.  Today it died in the middle of an intersection.  We had to push it to the parking lot.  Again it started right up after sitting for awhile.  I'm afraid to drive it.  Any suggestions?  The nearest LR shop is Boise,Id. (184  MILES FROM HERE)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
If I were going to make a guess from your description I'd say put a crank sensor in it.  Crank sensors are less than $100 and known for causing that very symptom.  If that does not work I suggest you make the trip to a qualified service center as throwing more parts at the problem will get expensive fast
