Answer
Hi Steven,

Most dealers will replace the entire assembly ($300+) and state its all one unit.  If you are a DIY'er, you could do the repair but you'll need to know the correct parts.

Does the mirror motor still operate? If not,  replace the entire assembly.  If so, I've seen the mounting adapter for under $5 at Atlantic British.  Part #STC4625

Mirror glass ranges from $28(LH part# CRD100690 ) to $70 (RH heated part# CRD100660 ).

It's tidious work but here's what an DIY'er said when he completed the repair:

"A little word of advice - drive the mirror adjustment out as far as it goes. This makes it easy to line up the little plastic arm, and clip in the first side of the mirror (the closest side to the car). Then with a little pressure on the side of the mirror, pushing outwards, the other side clips on quite easily. Another reason for driving the mirror adjustment out as far as it goes is that it limits the amount of lateral pressure on the ball joint that does left-right adjustment. I did pop this out three times before I worked out my way of limiting the pressure on this ball joint. But the end result is that the new mirror is in place and is fully adjustable. IF the mirror assembly is damaged, you could find a replacement at a salvage yard and do the install yourself.  Here are the instructions from the workshop manual on replacing the entire wing mirror assembly:

Remove
1. Release cheater panel from front door.  (inside triangular cover)
2. Remove anti-rattle foam pad from front door. (found behind cheater panel)
3. Release mirror multiplug from mounting plate.
4. Disconnect multiplug from mirror.
5. Remove 3 bolts securing mirror to door.
6. Remove mirror and collect mounting plate.
Refit
1. Fit mirror and mounting plate to door.
2. Fit bolts securing mirror to door and tighten to
4 Nm (3 lbf.ft).
3. Connect multiplug to mirror.
4. Secure multiplug to mounting plate.
5. Fit anti-rattle foam pad to front door.
6. Secure cheater panel to front door.

Best of luck,
JohnMc
