Land Rover Repair: LR HSE 2005 suspension issues?, suspension issues, test gear

Question
I just purchased a 2005 LR HSE with 89k miles on it. It was driving fine until two days ago. I had four new tires put on last week, and had the alignment done - not sure if this has anything to do with my current issue though.

The left front is slightly lower than the right, and the car rides much more roughly now, i feel every bump on that side and hear an occasional thump when driving.  I'm not a car guy, but my worry is that it is a bad strut or something worse.  Also. the car drifts left, so that I have to have the steering wheel at about 1 oclock to go straight.

Do you have any thoughts, specifically on what might be the problem and whether or not it might have anything to do with the new tires/alignment.  (the tires were put on by a chain store and not an LR mechanic)  Seems to be a big coincidence if not related.

Thanks!

Answer
It's possible that your struts were old and when the car was lifted for service, one failed.  If so, it's probably the age of the car more than the mechanic but without seeing it I don't know for sure.  The vehicle is certainly old enough that it may need struts or other work.  I suggest you seek out a dealer or shop with the specialized Land Rover test gear to read the codes in the car.
