Land Rover Repair: Should I re-sell., land rover cars, computer text

Hi,just bought a Land rover 2001 model two days ago.Milage done 124,000 km,according to computer text,engine is still 90%,gear is still okay.but it has got some problems like,right window and boot not opening,etc.has getting to it to a workshop for re-pair,which i advised by the mechanic expert to re-sell it immediately,that Land rover cars are expensive to maintain,and parts too expensive too.please i am disappointed please advise.

Hi Cordelia,

I'm sorry to read that you are disappointed in your purchase.  It's true though...LR's are very expensive to maintain AND they break down often.  This is probably the biggest problem with LR - reliability.  The problems you describe are very common and even though they are cosmetic, they are very expensive to diagnose and repair.  Even after they are repaired, the problems could come back years later.

When we bought our Disco, my wife always wanted a Land Rover and it does look very good.  But once the problems started, we soon learned how expensive it is to maintain and how little we could rely upon the local dealership.

Thinking about your situation, your decision to sell it quickly BEFORE you start spending big money to repair it - is the BEST decision and I agree with you 100%.  Don't look back with regret - there are much better 4x4's out there that are far more reliable than the Disco.  You are actually saving yourself a lot of $$$ now.  bravo for your courage.
