Land Rover Repair: Fuse 15 Failure, failure message, electrical fault

Question
Hello... My 2001 RR message center is saying Fuse 15 failure.  When I try to replace the fuse it immediately blows the new fuse.  Any insight to the expense associated with this repair?

Also, is there a way to open the rear bonnet while receiving this fuse failure message?

Answer
Hi Dana,

if you go to the dealer, expect a minimum of 2 hours labour just to find the fault.  If they find it in under 2 hours - consider it a bonus!

<<fuse 15: Courtesy lights, handset receiver, loadspace
light, rear wiper, sub-woofer, audio system amplifiers>>

You could check the bulbs and wiring for the courtesy and cargo (loadspace) lights for any signs of a short or corrosion.  Water ingress can do damage to the wiring - especially in the tail of the vehicle.  Do you have water problems elsewhere?

How about your audio system? Do you hear 'feedback' or static?

If there is an electrical fault in the rear, there is no way to access the cargo area other than thru the rear seats.  I don't know of a way around that.

Best of luck,
JohnMc
