Land Rover Repair: CD Problem on 2008 Range Rover, land rover owners, rover owners club

Question
I've been having many problems with my Range Rover that I cannot seem to get LandRover Miramar to fix. So am trying to find solutions to help them fix things. My 2-year ongoing problem is with my CD player. If I am listening to the radio or watching a DVD and decide to switch to a CD, and hit the CD button on the screen, it just sits there.  No sound, no movement, nothing -- it will just show Track 2 or whatever it was on last.  I cannot hit fast forward or any of those buttons, as they won't work. The buttons on the steering wheel will not make it work either. I actually have been able to show this happening to the dealer and they don't know how to fix it.  They've replaced the CD player itself but it continues to happen (it happens a good 90% of the time). Do you have any thoughts, as they don't have any idea of where to start with it.

Answer
Hi Marci,

I suggest you find a radio specialist near your location since your dealer is unable to solve this.

First, try the local Land Rover owners club:  LandRover San Diego

http://www.lrcsd.com/

They have an extensive LINKS section that leads to many companies that service LR vehicles.

One such link is to Premier Rover, an independent LR shop:
http://www.premierrover.com/services

You could also contact the LRSD club and ask if they know someone who specializes in radio repair in your area.  The club is well organized and run by friendly folks who may be able to help you out.  Worth a try.

Best of luck,
JohnMc
