Land Rover Repair: disco v8i speedometer, throttle position sensor, sensor tps

my disco v8i's speedometer goes to zero while running.but when i run vehicle next time it works properly. it happened many times in past 2 yrs. where to check?
is there any lose connection?

could be the throttle position sensor TPS. My Disco had the same problem with strange speedometer ranges, very high revs, swings up and down - turned out to be the TPS.

TPS failure is very common in Disco's.
