Land Rover Repair: 1999 Land Rover Disco II, good shape, routine maintenance

Question
I had no trouble with it until last night. Got back into the car after only about 5 minutes and there is a clicking sound when I try and turn it over. Bought the car last year and we have really not done anything to it but routine maintenance. We thought it was the battery went to Wal-Mart (only place open at 11pm) and changed it out to no avail. Now it is sitting in a public parking lot and being new in the area we know no one. Can you help?

Answer
sorry for the delay in answering,

This sounds like a heat-soaked starter, after cooling off it should start fine.  If it does you need to replace the starter.

If not check all the cables to the battery, starter and engine ground, ensure they're in good shape and clean up all the terminals.
