Land Rover Repair: 95 Discovery, multiple drivers, one keyless remote, remote key fobs, car theif

Question
The company I work with has a Discovery I (1995).  We had key copies made, and they work fine turning the locks and ignition, but seems we can't use them because of the securty system.  We have 5 different drivers that need to have access to the car, and don't want to purchase 5 FOBs.

Right now we have one remote (which is falling apart from all the use) and one original key, and can only use this one set.

How can we disable the security system and just use the keys?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi John,

if I published an answer to this, every car theif on the planet would have that answer.

I'm not sure if the security system can handle more than 2 key fobs.  Perhaps LR could answer this for you.

I've had more than 4 keys for my '95 Disco and I've never had any trouble.  If you are talking about remote key fobs, you're limited to two.  If you're talking about keys, there are no limits.

Unless you have a different security system than me, the key does not have a 'chip' that uniquely identifies itself to the security system.  The FOB is a different story.

Best to contact LRNA and get them to fabricate a solution for you. I would think it's possible.

Regards,
