Land Rover Repair: Rover Fluids, radiator fluid, ace system

Question
I would like to by some backup fluids for my Disco '03.  I don't think it's necesssary to buy them from the dealer and I've read one post that said it's best to use Castrol and only Castrol because rover fluids degrade the hoses over time. (Whatever)  Is there a quality over the counter for brake/power steering/radiator fluid?  Or am I stuck at the dealership?
Thanks in advance,

Answer
You can find a list of recommended fluids on the Robison Service web site or in your manual.

We recommend Mobil 1 lubricants, not Castrol.  But that's just me.  I'm sure you will be fine with Castrol, too.

We and LR recommend Castrol LMA for the brake fluid.

All fluids degrade themselves and the hoses that cary them, as your post suggests.  That's why it's important to change them.  Look on our web site for suggested schedules.

The only fluid you need to buy from the dealer is the stuff for the ACE system, if you have ACE.
