Land Rover Repair: Battery light staying on, door switches, alternator problem

Question
Hi there hope you can help.  I have a discovery 200tdi.  I noticed 2 nights ago that the battery light stayed on even when the key was removed.  I thought nothing of it and thought may be a fuse problem, however i tried to start it the next day but it was dead.  I changed the battery and the same thing happened.  I have checked the earths etc but everything seems ok.  Could this be an alternator problem??
I have another question, my clutch keeps losing pressure, the local garage keep bleeding the clutch but it does it again.  Will changing the slave cylinder fix this problem as I think that may be leaking or damaged.

Answer
Hi Ellis,

could be your alt is not charging properly or you've got a short somewhere.  Have the alternator tested.  If it's not the alt, my guess would be to inspect the usual suspects:  light bulbholders (look inside at the terminals), door switches, ignition switch, the solenoid contact on your starter.

As for your clutch, it sounds like the slave cylinder.

Best of luck,
