Land Rover Repair: discovery immobiliser, land rover discovery 2, land rover discovery

Land Rover Discovery 2.5 td. year 1995, N reg.
The problem is that the immobiliser kicks in every so often leaving me unable to start the car again. please can you tell me what the problem may be or how easy it will be to dis-connect it.

Hi Adam,

inspect your door sensors to determine if they are working properly.  They have been known to stick and the wiring to corrode.

Could also be a faulty security ECU, a short somewhere in the security scheme, parking brake switch or the park/neutral switch on the gearbox.

My guess is the security switches on the doors or hood (bonnet).
