Question -
Land Rover made 2 big improvements in 2003 - 4.6L engine and improved brakes.  My 2002 discovery takes a bit to stop, Is that the problem they fixed ?  And what exactly did they change, the disc size ?  slotted rear brake discs ? the brake pad size ? disc brake pad material ?, or is in something that cannot be remedied on the 2002 i.e. software, hydraulics etc.

Answer -
The principal improvement is that the 2003 has bigger front brakes, which can be retrofitted to a 2001-2002.

Answer
I'm not sure what to say other than the obvious power difference, as you put it.  The two motors are identical with the exception of displacement.  There are no other differences.

Were you aware the two engines are the same except for 15% displacement increase?  They are.  So there are no other differences as far as I know.
