Land Rover Repair: 1995 range rover 4.0 radio security code, radio code, range rover

I have tried the radio code provided by the dealer and it seems to not be working.  I do not get a beep or anything the 4 lines on the radio display just stay constant.  I have tried leaving the vehicle on and trying again still with no luck.  The radio is still the factory unit is there a way to reprogram it and if i take it to the dealer how much would a service like that cost.

Leave your car running 1.5 hours with the radio turned on and then try to enter the code.  If that does not work pull the radio and get the serial number off it, and verify the code by having your dealer look it up by radio number instead of by vin.

If you are still stuck the radio must be sent for repair or replaced.
