Land Rover Repair: Alternator, electricity expert, car electricity

Question
We tested it this morning of course the light was off and did not ome back on. It was testing fine with everything on that I could turn on. I suspect that the indicator light comes on only when I drop below those numbers. I f I decide to replace the alternator is there other alternators that I can use that don't cost $600 new? Why would it be an intermittent problem?

Question -
I replaced my alternator a few months ago with a re-maunfatured alternator. Today the battery light come on again but it has been intermittent. Any suggestions

Answer -
Check the connections at the alternator.
If OK:

1: Run the engine
2: Switch on Headlamps, and internal ventilator at full speed.
3: Try to measure the voltage between the battery's two pole.

It must be at least 12.9-13 Volts at idle, and about 13.5-14 Volts at 2000 rpm.

If the voltage is lower, the alternator (or the voltage regulator in it) is faulty.

Answer
Why don't you try to put that in repair? Why do you want to buy a new one? I think that alternator is repairable.
I Hungary we oftenly repair alternators, generally the cost of the repair aren't more than about 100 USD.
