Land Rover Repair: Timing, landrover freelander, risk damage

Hi John
I have a landrover freelander 1998 1.8 petral.
I have replaced the timing belt but cant work out
the timing marks.
The car has started but is misfiring.
I am getting fual and spark to all cylinders but
no 1 is not firing.
can you help

There is no reason that replacement of the timing belt would cause one cylinder to not fire.  Did you assemble the coil packs wrong?

If your timing marks are off the engien can become damaged, leading to expensive repairs.  So I'd suggest you take it somewhere that's qualified to sort things out before yuo risk damage.

It's possible that cylinder now has valve damage but it's also possible your timing is way off.
