Land Rover Repair: a/c compressor not working, discovery 97., electrical fuses, compressor clutch

Question
hi - i have a discovery 97 (fxixs)model. My a/c compressor used to go off/on by itself when it was powered on. Today i got the a/c gas refilled, and my compressor gave up on me totally. it has totally stopped working after the refill. I got it checked for electrical fuses and they are all ok. I checked with 2 different mechanics and some tell me to change the compressor, some say the current is not passing into the compressor. I dont know what to do. If i buy a new compressor from the market, it will cost me a bomb and i dont know what the real problem is. Pls help urgently. thanks.....habeeb.

Answer
To the compressor goes two cable, which engergises the compressor clutch. Try to pull out the connector, and try to  give a positive and a negative leads to the cables, at running motor. If the compressor starts working fine, then there is some electrical problem (like trinyry switch) or mechanikal fault (like thermostat, freeze sensor).
