Question -
It has been determined that we need to replace the fuel pump in my sons 1996 LR Discovery. we have found the fuel pump - it's very easy to get to, but I would like some tips on replacing it, like what else should be replaced at the same time, and since we are working with fuel here what are some things we should know.  Also, where is a good place to get the parts from that is reasonably priced - about what should it cost.

Answer -
A fuel pump kit with all the small pieces you'll need is probably $400 from Atlantic British, 800 533 2210.  Their kit comes with all the little stuff you're asking about.

Answer
Well, of course it's easier to change a pump if there's no gas in the tank.

There is no special trick to changing a Land Rover pump.  It's like any other car with an in-talk fuel pump.

If you are looking for step by step instructions go to www.landrovertechinfo.com and pay for a day's access (18 I think) and read all about it.

There is a considerable fire hazard when working around fuel, so make sure you're ready for this before you start.
