Land Rover Repair: 97 Rangie 4.0 Turn Signal not working, turn signals, battery drain

Question
My turn signals are not working on my Range Rover. When the new bulb is placed in the rear indicator it stays on even when the turn signal is not on. When I turn on the signal it does click and blind on the dash. I removed the back bulb to prevent battery drain and strangley the signal still clicks and flashes with no bulb in the rear. The front bulb does not light up at all. What component controls the flashing of the lights. (i.e. relay)

Answer
Hi Michael,

I suspect its a corroded bulbholder. Could be either front or rear...even the sidemarker bulbholders are prone to corrode.  You'll have to remove the bulbs and take a look inside the bulbholder to see if the contacts are good.  I recently found one that had no contacts...they were rusted right off!

Best of luck,
