Land Rover Repair: 1995 Discovery wont start, vent fan, wiring books

Question
So we had a rather violent rainstorm the other evening.  The thunder set off my alarm, at which point I used the remote to turn off the alarm.  When I went to start the vehicle this morning it would not turn over.  When I turn the key to the start position, all of the electronics shut of, i.e. radio, vent fan, but the dash stays illuminated.  I tried to jump the vehicle in the event the battery had drained somehow and it made no difference.

Answer
I'm not sure of the connection between rain storm and no start.  Maybe water is getting into your wiring?  That's been a problem with trucks like yours.

You are going to have to get the wiring diagram and follow the starter circuit through till you find the problem.  The alarm system may be locking you out from starting.  If you go to www.landrovertechinfo.com they have the wiring books and they also describe the method for synchronizing the pushbutton remotes for the alarm.
