QuestionI HAVE A 2001 DISCO II THAT I JUST PURCHASED, IT HAS 62000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE FOUND WHAT APPEARS TO BE WATER IN THE TRANS, THE FLUID IS PINK. I HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SHIFTING. I WAS WONDERING HOW TUUF THE TRANSMISSIONS ARE WHEN THEY GET WATER IN THEM. WILL FLUSHING IT HELP ARE AM I JUST WASTING MY TIME. THANKS
AnswerHi Brad,
have this fixed immediately. You don't want to corrode your tranny out!
Must be a leak where the tranny fluid circulates within the radiator. Only place I know that coolant and tranfluid would get mixed.
Could be just a seal or it could be an internal leak in the rad.
Best of luck,
JohnMc
NB: how tough is your tranny? How about $7000 tough. Not worth testing, is it.
