Land Rover Repair: WATER IN TRANS, wasting my time, coolant

I HAVE A 2001 DISCO II THAT I JUST PURCHASED, IT HAS 62000 MILES ON IT.  I HAVE FOUND WHAT APPEARS TO BE WATER IN THE TRANS, THE FLUID IS PINK.  I HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SHIFTING.  I WAS WONDERING HOW TUUF THE TRANSMISSIONS ARE WHEN THEY GET WATER IN THEM.  WILL FLUSHING IT HELP ARE AM I JUST WASTING MY TIME. THANKS

Hi Brad,

have this fixed immediately.  You don't want to corrode your tranny out!

Must be a leak where the tranny fluid circulates within the radiator.  Only place I know that coolant and tranfluid would get mixed.

Could be just a seal or it could be an internal leak in the rad.

NB:  how tough is your tranny?  How about $7000 tough.  Not worth testing, is it.
