Land Rover Repair: 1997 Discovery A/C, jury rig, condensor

Question
Hi,
My air was blowing warm so a took it in and they said it could
either be my condensor or a seal. I had the seal fixed for
economic reasons. Now two weeks later, I noticed first the a/c
cut out then came immediatly back on, and now the passenger
side only blows warm air at best. Should I just replace the
condensor, I have one on hand?
  Thanks,   Justin

Answer
Hi Justin,

if you have a spare condensor...why not swap it in.  I suspect it's the AC compressor.  There is a small internal switch within the compressor that is very heat sensitive.  Once that little %##&$ starts to fail, you'll get problems like the one you describe.

There is a way to by-pass this switch but I'm not absolutely sure how to do it. Perhaps a local AC specialist would jury-rig something up for you.

Best of luck,
