Land Rover Repair: Land Rover Discovery tailight electrics, land rover discovery, dipped headlights

Question
I've got an R-reg (9-ish years old) Discovery Tdi.  A while ago the rear nearside driving lights - which are on the bumper - went.  The front dipped headlights, which are on the same circuit, also went.  Replacing the fuse sorted it, but only for a day or two.  Now a new fuse last a matter of minutes before going again.  The bulb holders have been replaced & numerous mechanics have been at a loss! Any ideas?  Thanks.

Answer
There is no place these harnesses always chafe for me to tell you about.  You are going to have to follow the wires and figure it out.

Get the factory wiring book, available from www.landrovertechinfo.com  Look at the chart to see what junctions there are in that circuit and where they are.  Check them all and then use a clamp on current probe to see where the current is flowing to speed tracing.

Your problem is probably going to be in the rear bumper area where wiring corrodes from spray from the rear wheels
