-----Question-----
I have a 2001 GS 300, whenever i put the key in the ignition there is this noise that comes from under the dash that sounds like a blender or so... It goes away after a minute or two when the car is on. What can this be and about how much should it cost to fix, or even better can i fix it myself?
-----Answer-----
What area under the dash? Drivers? Passangers? Middle of the dash? The blower fan for the climate control is located under the dash.

Get back with me. Sounds interesting.

Answer
It is really hard to say without being there. I'm honestly not sure.
All the common areas are:
cd changer
blower motor is falling out of service
blower impeller is rubbing its housing
cabin air filter has debris trapping in the system
A/C drain plug / hose is plugged shut
engine coolant is low, causing the coolant circulation in the heater system to make noises becuase air is trapped inside.
Not many of those apply to you.
You can always lean the seat back, lay under the dash & have a look for the noise. (Or pay a 5 year old to do it!)
