Lincoln/Mercury Repair: Tie rod inners, inner tie rods, 2001 mercury sable

Question
A local shop where I had my oil changed showed me a slight play in my front wheels. He said the inner tie rods need to be replaced on both sides..What's a fair price to replace/repair them on my 2001 Mercury Sable. It has 120,000K for mileage...thanks

Answer
Joe,
They make tools so the rack and pinion doesn't have to be removed anymore.....which makes this a easy job and most likely they have them. You should expect to pay 1.5-2.5 hours labor for the inner tie rods and however much their alignment cost.

Although this repair only requires a front end alignment, your car "can be" 4 wheel aligned.
