Mazda Repair: Air in system, radiator cap, purge valve

Question
I changed the thermostat in my 1994 Mazda Mpv.I was told to get all the air out the system.HOw do i do that? Is there a valve i open up to do that? Thanks.

Answer
I do not know of your particular car has an air purge valve or not. Regardless of whether or not it does, the air can be purged through the radiator cap. Drive the car for a few minutes, let if cool off, and then remove the radiator cap. If the radiator is low, then add fluid. Continue to do this every couple of days until the car does not need any more fluid.
