Mitsubishi Repair: 1992 Mitsubishi Diamante brake problems, 1992 mitsubishi diamante, master brake cylinder

Question
I have a 1992 Mitsubishi Diamante sedan 6 cylinder single over head cam. The first time I had the problem, the brake had to be pushed all the way down to stop, so I brought it to a shop and the mechanic told me it was the master cylinder and a brake line. So he fixed it and I had no problem for a while, but later it happened again but I could brake only to a certain point, and when past that point the brake went all the way back and I couldn't stop until I released the brake and pushed it again softly. But the next day I completely had no brakes. Now the "Anti-Lock" light has been on since before I first started driving the car and I had no problems until now. Way before all of this I had the pads changed and the rotors cleaned as part of the "Tune-Up".

Answer
Andres,
Replacing the pads and rotors won't cause this problem.  What you are describing is typically a problem with the master cylinder, brake booster, or the ABS control module.  If your mechanic simply rebuilt your master cylinder, it's probably failing again, or perhaps another brake line has failed.  On a 16 year old car that gets regular use, that's not uncommon.  Either bring your car back to the mechanic that fixed your initial master brake cylinder problem and have him fix (replace) it again, or take it to another mechanic for another diagnosis.  But you can at least check your brake fluid level.  If it's low, you definitely have a leak.
Good luck!
