Mitsubishi Repair: transmission, mitsubishi eclipse spyder, spyder gs

Question
i have a 98 Mitsubishi eclipse spyder gs auto transmission. the transmission won't go out of 2nd gear and won't go into reverse. i checked the codes and it said short circuit transmission solenoids. so i replaced the transmission solenoids and it still won't go into reverse.

Chris: Have you checked the fluid? As to the color, is it pink in color? Which would be great. Pink and brown or all brown, not good. You could also change the fluid, filter and put a conditioner in it. You could get that conditioner at the parts store when you buy the fluid and filter for the transmission. I would try changing that. Oh hey, you get a shop to change that fluid and filter tell them to put that conditioner into the transmission as they change it. As that conditioner really helps things and most shops don't you to get help like that. Because they want you to come back to them. So try that and see if that helps you. If not but I am hoping it will. But if not then you will have to take the car to a transmission shop and see what they tell you. Still the fluid, filter and conditioner is the first things to do.
