Nissan Repair: Pintara Overheating, relay switch, fan motors

Hi there,

What could be the cause of an overheating problem in a 91 pintara?
I've put in a new thermostat and the fans work, i've tested them separately but they wont turn on when the car is running. I also know its not the water pump or fuse. Could it be wiring or a relay switch?

The fans run off a temperature sensor and a relay.  If either of these are defective the fan will not come on.  Turn the airconditioner on and if the fans do not come on replace the relays or the fan motors.  If they come on replace the temperature sensor for the fans.
