Motorcycle Repair: 1998 Honda Foreman 400, honda foreman 400, battery power source

Question
I can not get my ATV to start. I have replaced the battery and the solenoid and still wont start by turning the key on and pushing the start button. I can start it by the pull cord but the light are dim. I have check my main fuse but it shows no voltage the oms checks good.I don't know what else to check. Can you offer any help?

Answer
I suspect that the handlebar starter switch may be having issues, or the wiring to it. Other possibilities are a bad ground or any "safety" switches that must be over-ridden to all the starter circuit to engage.
Get a wiring diagram from a shop manual. You should be seeing battery voltage on the fuses. If not, go back to the battery power source and wiring to determine the cause.
