Motorcycle Repair: Clutch adjustment, clutch adjustment, clutch cable

Question
I am the proud owner of a 1988 fltc tourglide 1340 evo motorcycle. My Barnnett clutch is very hard to pull . I have already had a pressure reduction kit installed. This did seem to help. but I have been riding in a few parades and I can't seem to find neutral without stopping the motor first. And it won't shift when it gets up to full running temp but cold its fine. will clutch adj help? How where do I do this procedure?

Answer
To Adjust the clutch, first loosen the clutch cable so you have some slack in it. Now, with the bike sitting upright, remove the derby cover. Under it you will see the adjuster screw with a locknut. Loosen the locknut and turn the screw outward a little and then back inward, just until it bottoms. the outward about 1/8 of a turn. Tighten the locknut and install the derby cover. Now go to the clutch cable and tighten it, until you have about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever and tighten the locknut.
Good luck and happy riding
